Shredded Beef Tacos

Fork-tender shredded beef makes good tacos even better. This slow-cooker dish is perfect for buffets, tailgating or casual family dinners. Garnish with your favorite toppings, it is super versatile and so easy to make!

Quick and easy prep work and the slow-cooker does the rest.
This shredded beef makes the perfect base for a variety of dishes like the tacos I did here.

How to Make the Mexican Shredded Beef
  • My favorite cut is a chuck roast, which may also be labeled as a shoulder roast, brisket is another great choice for shredded beef.
  • The slow-cooker does all the work in this recipe, just add ingredients and cook on low heat (8-10 hours) or high heat(4-6 hours).
  • When roast is cooked, remove from slow cooker and shred meat. I just grabbed 2 forks and shredded away. Return to slow cooker juice and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.

This recipe makes more filling than you’ll need. No worries, the tender shredded beef also makes a delicious burrito or sandwich filling or topping for a taco salad.

Fill corn tortilla with shredded beef, Mexican crema, and Pico de Gallo salsa.
