Steak Picado, is a mildly spicy beef stir fry that brings together onions, bell peppers, garlic, and seasonings and transforms these ingredients into a mouthwatering, delicious meal.
What you need for this easy meal:
- Round steaks, cut into strips
- Onion, thinly sliced
- Bell peppers, cut into thin slices
- Tomatoes,
- Garlic cloves
- Jalapeño or Serrano ( for more spiciness)
Seasonings: Cumin, black pepper, New Mexico Chile Powder

How to Make Steak Picado
- Heat a large frying pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meat on both sides, then add sliced onion and garlic.
- Add bell peppers and jalapeño, mix in tomatoes and cumin, dried cilantro, chile powder, and black pepper.
- Stir constantly until vegetables are slightly tender. Lower heat to simmer, cover, and cook for 45 minutes.
