Easy to Make Mexican Paletas (Popsicles)

Paletas are a Mexican frozen treat unlike American popsicles which are flavored with a mix of sugar syrups and food dyes, paletas are constructed from whole ingredients like fresh pureed fruits, nuts, herbs, and spices.
Mexican Paletas (Popsicles)

This Homemade Mexican Fruit Paletas recipe is an easy, healthy, and refreshing treat or snack to make for your kids this summer!

There’s nothing like a sweet, fruity popsicle to cool down from the summer heat. It’s no wonder paletas have been described as “summer on a stick.”

Mexican Paletas

How to make Mexican Paletas
  • Roughly chop fruit you are using for your paletas.
  • Save 1/2 cup of fruit to place in the popsicle molds.
  • Place fruit, lime juice, sugar, and water into the blender.
  • Blend until smooth and pour into popsicle molds*

  • *If your molds don’t have built-in Popsicle sticks (or you are using paper cups or some other receptacle as molds), take your pops out of the freezer after about an hour and insert wooden sticks into the slushy mix; return to the freezer.

What Fruit combinations can I use for Mexican Paletas?

  • Watermelon Kiwi
  • Mango Strawberry
  • Strawberry banana
  • Cantaloupe Lime

  • Want sugar-free?  just use your favorite sweetener...e.g. Truvia or Splenda. For 3 cups of fruit use 2/3 cup of sweetener.
