You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make a big batch of this Homemade Taco Sauce. This sauce is ideal when making enchiladas, tacos, chilaquiles, and all meat and fish dishes. It’s basically tomato sauce, water, vinegar, and a bunch of spices.








Maybe you’re wanting something with a bit more kick, so you toss in a little more cayenne pepper. Or you’ve got a garlic fanatic in your house, so when you add the teaspoon of garlic powder, you make sure it’s a heaping one. Take this recipe, and make it yours.









For This Recipe You Will Need:
Spices: Cumin, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Cayenne, Paprika, Chili Powder, Salt, Sugar, Mexican Oregano
Liquids: Vinegar, Water, Tomato sauce

Making The Taco Sauce
Place all ingredients in a saucepan, whisk together. Bring to a light boil then lower heat to a simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat. Allow to cool, place in an airtight container or bottle.

Homemade Taco Sauce

Enhance your favorite dishes with the incredible taste of this Homemade Taco Sauce. Simple and easy to make.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chile powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Mexican Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp salt, to taste
  • 1 cup water
Instructions:
  1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan, whisk together. Bring to a light boil then lower heat to a simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat.
  2. Allow cooling before serving.
  3. Taco sauce is good in the fridge for up to 5-7 days in an airtight container. The sauce can also be frozen for future use.
