Lime Crema Recipe




 
An easy cream sauce with lime, sour cream, and cilantro, it may be exactly what your favorite Mexican dish is missing. Perfect on nachos, tacos, enchiladas, burritos and more! It's so easy to whip up and will become a fast favorite.

Lime Crema Recipe

This is a very versatile sauce. It goes well with just about anything you can imagine. Beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Veggies as a dip. The options are really limitless! Drizzle this sauce on your low-carb taco salad bowls, with tamales, tostadas, and so much more!




Lime Crema on Nachos
For This Recipe you will need:

Sour Cream - You can also use Mexican sour cream, Mexican crema, greek yogurt
Mayonnaise - Replace regular mayo for Keto mayonnaise for keto diets
Lime - Zest lime first then squeeze your lime for about 1-2 tablespoons of juice.
Garlic - Finely minced, crushed, or powder
Salt - regular salt or sea salt
Cilantro - cilantro lovers can add more instead of 1 tablespoon. For those who don't like cilantro, you can leave it out or substitute it with 1 teaspoon of chopped mint or parsley.






  • Zest the lime, then squeeze the juice into a small bowl.

  • In a bowl whisk the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic or garlic powder, lime zest, lime juice, and salt. Stir in finely chopped cilantro. 
  • Use immediately or store in a covered bowl in the fridge until ready to serve

  • 🌶Tip: Lime crema will naturally thicken in the fridge, pull out the whisk and add 1/4 tsp of water or lime juice to thin out the sauce if this happens.

    Ingredients:
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • zest of 1 lime
    • juice of 1 lime
    • 1 teaspoon finely minced garlic or 1/4 tsp granulated garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh cilantro
    Instructions:
    1. Zest the lime, then squeeze the juice into a small bowl.
    2. In a bowl whisk the sour cream, mayonnaise, crushed garlic or powder, lime zest, lime juice, and salt. Stir in finely chopped cilantro.
    3. Serve over tacos, in burritos, top tostadas, and much more!
    4. Use immediately or store in a covered bowl in the fridge until ready to serve. Crema will be good for up to 3 days in the fridge.
